Instructional Walkthrough

To begin the quest, go to Pallet Town and speak with Professor Oak in his lab. Contingent on having the Mega Bracelet, Oak will give you the chance to start the quest for any of the Kanto starter Mega stone. He will ask that you bring him either a Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle.

Obviously, for this quest you want to bring him a Charmander, but not just any Charmander will do. You need to bring a Charmander with at least 90 total IVs and either an Adamant, Jolly, Modest, or Timid nature. Do note that the Charmander does not need to have your OT, but it does need to be caught after you’ve spoken with Oak.

Once you’ve obtained a Charmander that meets all the requirements, return to Oak and show it to him. After gaining Oak’s approval, you must now train your Charmander to prepare it for a tough battle ahead. You will need to EV train it, level it up to level 100, and fully evolve it.

After training has finished, return to Oak and show him your newly evolved Charizard. He will ask if you are ready for battle, and after accepting it, the battle will begin.
