Welcome to Pokémon Revolution Online Wiki! We hope you will contribute much and well. You will probably want to read the help pages. Again, welcome and have fun! Naero (talk) 18:31, 7 March 2018 (CST)
Spawn-data editing frequency.
Firstly, I would like to thank you profoundly for your productive editorship on this wiki! Still habitually attentive to the recent-changes logs, I acknowledge all of the recent changes; but at the same time, I've taken notice to some extravagancies on your part that are best addressed sooner than later.
As you most likely noticed, the wiki's uptime was recently suspended by the host due to excessive bandwidth expenditures; this was due primarily to overfrequent edits of the spawn-data pages, which contain so many bytes that a proliferative amount of bytes need to be transmitted whenever the page is submitted. The bandwidth excesses were multifactorial, so those edits aren't singularly culpable for it, but it certainly was the weightiest factor from all that I've checked on the logs.
Moving into the future, I'd adjure you err on the side of conservativity with how often you edit the pages. My advice for now would be to periodize how often you edit either of the land- and water-spawn CSVs; once every week or two would be my recommendation until further notice. If you have any spawn-data changes to make, you can collate them on a CSV .txt file locally, but do not submit them to the wiki immediately; wait a week or two before doing so. Since changes to these pages do not effectuate on the transcluder's ends for roughly one week, anyway, it would be felicitous enough to hold off on it before that interval, because all it will do is unnecessarily expend more bandwidth bytes too soon without immediately effectuating.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns, and thank you once again for your editorship. Happy editing!
Haha, didn't know it could cause that much of a problem! I'll be more careful from now on, and try to bulk up changes together, particularly the minor ones. I do have my own note-taking website which I use very often while editing the wiki, so I can make use of it to note changes to apply.
Fortunately, I don't expect as many changes from now on. Kanto and Johto regions were the ones that were pretty much outdated, and I'll be working on Hoenn now, which I believe has less mistakes in its spawn datas. I've also already gone over some of the mistakes it had before, so that's less to do in my Hoenn run.
I see that you have added all the information in regards for the Transmat System under the New Mauville location which looks quite great.
Though a bit curious if with the addition of that under the location tab, do we have to make transmat-station quest article? I actually planned on hopefully creating it, but with the fact that everything is noted under the location tab, I just want to inquire first?
