Unknown Place is a special Kanto area in the Trainers Valley region. It is located on the north side of Pitch Black Cave. The place is home to Nikola, a special boss that allows the player a second chance at capturing Legendary Pokemons that were not captured during their quests.
Note that despite the presence of legendary field Pokemons such as Arceus and Kyogre, talking to them does not register their seen data into the Pokedex.
Notable miscellanies
Nurse Joy
Nurse Joy is located in the south-west corner of Unknown Place. She will heal the player’s Pokémons for the price of 2,000.
Nikola (boss)
Nikola is located on the island in the middle of the northern lake. Unlike other bosses, he is not meant to be challenged regularly. Instead, he will fight the player on the unique condition that he or she has not captured a Legendary Pokemon during its quest. Beating Nikola will then allow the player a second chance at capturing that Legendary Pokemon. See the main page for more information.
