Route 131

Sky Pillar is a Hoenn tower located north of Route 131. It’s entrance will initially be blocked by a monk, who will let the player pass after starting the Sky Pillar Quest in Sootopolis City.

Sky Pillar is known for being the place to fight Rayquaza. Furthermore, it is where it is possible to go to the Moon during the story: after completing the story, it will be at Mossdeep City Space Center.

Sky Pillar Quest

After talking to Steven in Sootopolis City, the objective will be to meet Jackson, who will be waiting at the top floor of Sky Pillar. He will challenge the player after talking to him. His Pokémons are very high level and may be the hardest battle thus far, as such it is recommended to do a detour to Pacifidlog Town to avoid the long sea travel, and bring the full main party with no HM slave.

Once defeated, he will give the option to ride Rayquaza to the Moon for the final Hoenn story battle. As Deoxys is also very hard, it is recommended to heal back at the Pokémon Center and bring Pokémons specifically for the battle. It is to note that going to the Moon from Sky Pillar is only possible during the story, returning to the moon afterward will require to go at Mossdeep City Space Center.
