Vermilion City

Route 6 is a Kanto route that is interlocated between Saffron City and Vermilion City. It also leads to Vermilion City Graveyard on its southwest side.

Until one has obtained the Soul Badge in Fuchsia Gym, their access will be inadmissible to the quadra-bordering gatehouses of Saffron City. One must bypass the aforementioned city to access here before the Soul Badge is procured; this can be done by using the underpass that interlinks Route 5 and Route 6.

This route must be passed through en route to Vermilion City to procure the Thunder Badge—the third badge in Kanto’s successional line of them.

Notable miscellanies

Psychic Wade

When passing through this route for the first time, you will impassably encounter Psychic Wade; he will warp you into the past to give you retrocognition on a calamitous war that transpired in Vermilion City a decade ago, including a battle with Lance’s indomitable Dragonair. Once this scene concludes, you will be situated in Vermilion City’s Pokémon Center.

  • Emboldened moves avail from a STAB bonus when deployed by that Pokémon.
  • Italicized moves are functionally broken; see their individualized pages for more information.

After that encounter, Psychic Wade will ask to pass a message to Lt. Surge in order to avoid his vision from coming true. When the player returns to Psychic Wade after passing the message, Psychic Wade will award a Dragon Fang and disappear.
