Route 20 is a seabound Kanto route that is interlocated between Route 19 and Cinnabar Island.
It is initially accessed by traveling asea from Route 19’s shore on a player’s first voyage to Cinnabar Island; this entails acquisition of HM03 (Surf) and a Surf-wielding Pokémon, a Surfable Mount or other navigational device in order for the watery routes to be navigable.
The Seafoam Islands mini-archipelago is environed by this route and must be traveled through in order to passably reach Cinnabar Island.
Notable miscellanies
Seafoam Islands
Main article: Seafoam Islands
Centrically situated on the route, the Seafoam Islands can be found on the centermost expanse on the route.
Because this expanse is exteriorly impassable, passersby must travel through the Seafoam Islands caves in order to reach the western segment and ultimately disembark on Cinnabar Island.
