Mt. Summer is a Vulcan Island mountain located west of Vulcan Forest. It is the main location for Team Magma on the island, and as such events that happen there greatly change depending on which side the player has decided to take.
Particularly, when returning there after siding with Team Magma, its shape considerably changes with lava everywhere. This causes a large amount of changes on the Exterior spawns, notably with Chimchar replacing Piplup.
Notable Miscellanies
Vulcan Quest (Magma)
The Magma Grunt blocking at the entrance will first ask the player if he or she wants to side with Team Magma. Accepting this offer starts the Magma path of the Vulcan Quest.
If the player decides to side will Team Magma, he will then give the first objective, being to head to Kalijodo Cave and stop Team Aqua there.
After completing the events at Kalijodo Cave and returning to Mt. Summer, the vulcan will have erupted and greatly changed the appearance of the mountain, with lava flooding the place.
At the summit, Magma Grunt Leader will thank the player and reward a Summer Clothes W-R. This ends the Magma path of the Vulcan Quest. However, the Vulcan quest itself is not over yet, as the Mayor in Vulcanic Town also wants to see the player to give a second reward.

Vulcan Quest (Aqua)
After accepting to join Team Aqua’s side, the first objective will be to stop Team Magma here at Mt. Summer. Knowing that the player sided with Team Aqua, Team Magma Grunts will become hostile to the player.
The first goal will be to reach Mt. Summer Summit, where their leader will be waiting. He will fight the player upon being spoken to. His team is estimated to be level 80.
Afterwards, a Team Aqua grunt will halt the player on the way out, and inform that they have found the Mythical Core. She will then say the next objective, being to put the Mythical Core on the Sacred Stone in one of the Chambers. There are a total of 5 Chambers,
which are all reachable from 4F. As such, Rock Smash is necessary to reach them.
The correct Sacred Stone is randomized, and choosing a wrong one will trigger a fight with a Gengar, which is estimated to be level 100.
Once the correct Sacred Stone has been found, another Aqua Grunt at the entrance of the mountain will thank the player and ask him or her to go see their leader in Kalijodo Cave, concluding the Aqua Vulcan Quest for this area.
Sky Attack Tutor
A Move Tutor for the move Sky Attack can be found in the south-west corner of Mt. Summer Summit. He will teach the move to any compatible Pokémon for the price of 15,000.
