Magnet Pull (ability)

Magnet Pull is one of the many abilities that are inheritable by Pokémon.

Function

Magnet Pull precludes any escapability from battle of any Steel-type opponents, thereby parrying off moves that function as such, such as Teleport, and the opponent’s ability to flee or switch out as long as the ability’s possessor is in the battle.

While the target’s disability from escaping the battle is not bypassable outside of the Run Away ability and the itemSmoke Ball, there are several circumventions that allow switch-outs; that is orchestrated through usages of the following moves: Baton Pass, U-turn, Volt Switch, and Parting Shot, in addition to usage of the Shed Shell item.
