Legendary Guardians are gatekeeping bosses that trainers must defeat in order to catchably encounter Legendary Beasts. A corresponding Beast Bell, which is obtained during the Legendary Beasts quest, is required to challenge one of the Guardians. Upon defeating them, you’ll have a 16.6% chance of encountering the respective Legendary Beast; that changes to 100% upon the third-consecutive win.
Partway through the quest, Scientist Ray at the Bell Tower proffers one of the following Beast Bells to the trainer:
- Zap Bell for Raikou
- Lava Bell for Entei
- Water Bell for Suicune
Bells are changeable contingent that the possessor hasn’t encountered one of the Beasts yet. To swap Bells, the trainer must speak to Ray’s assistant, Davis, in the same room.
With the requisite Bell, the following Guardians are challengeable.
