Kalijodo Cave is a Vulcan Island cave, which serves as the hideout for Team Aqua. As such, the events happening inside greatly change depending on which team the player has decided to team with.

Notable miscellanies

Vulcan Quest (Aqua)

After completing the quest’s portion at Mt. Summer, one of the Aqua Grunts will say that their leader wants to meet the player. He can be found in the north of Kalijodo Cave B2F.

The Aqua Grunt Leader will thank the player and reward a Summer Clothes B-B. This ends the Aqua path of the Vulcan Quest. However, the Vulcan quest itself is not over yet, as the Mayor in Vulcanic Town also wants to see the player to give a second reward.

Vulcan Quest (Magma)

Under Team Magma, the objective will be to reach the bottom of the Kalijodo Cave and destroy the Mythical Core that the Aqua Grunt Leader is holding. However, all of Team Aqua will be hostile against the player. The Aqua Grunt Leader will also fight the player. His team is estimated to be level 80.

After defeating him, it will be necessary to talk to him a second time to retrieve the Mythical Core.

On the way back, a Magma Grunt will be waiting outside the cave. He will inform the player that to destroy the Mythical Core, it is necessary to find 8 Kalijodo Gems inside the cave. There are all hidden items on rocks, and can be be found at the following locations:

  • On the large rock in Kalijodo Entrance
  • On the large rock directly north-east of the entrance ladder in B1F
  • On the second small rock north-west of the small bridge in the middle of B1F
  • On the first western rock before the stairs to the B2F ladder in B1F
  • On the second non-breakable rock before the first set of stairs in B2F
  • On the westmost large rock in the waters of B2F
  • On the large rock directly west of the island where Aqua Grunt Leader was in the waters of B2F
  • On the eastmost large rock in the waters of B2F

Once all 8 Kalijodo Gems have been found, the Magma Grunt outside the entrance will destroy the Mythical Core, and then say that their Vacation manager wants to see the player. He will be waiting at the summit of Mt. Summer.

Bulldoze Tutor

A Move Tutor for the move Bulldoze can be found directly at the entrance of Kalijodo Cave. He will teach the move to any compatible Pokémon for the price of 15,000.
