Indigo Plateau

Indigo Plateau — Kanto

Overview

Adjacent areas

Indigo Plateau
Victory Road Kanto

Indigo Plateau is the final Kanto and Johto area, where the Elite Four of both regions will await the player. Only after completing their challenges will the respective regions be truly completed.

Furthermore, it is also the departure point for Hoenn. When the player is ready to tackle on the third region, the Hoenn Traveler in Indigo Plateau will carry him or her to the first town of the region, Littleroot Town, after completing Youngster Joey’s request and defeating him.

Notable miscellanies

Kanto Elite Four

The Elite Four of the Kanto region will await the player in the east building. In it, the player can fully prepare for the incoming challenge by healing at the Pokémon Center and stocking on the best healing items in the PokéMart. Multiple NPCs will also hint at the type of each member of the Elite Four.

Should the player wish to return to the main parts of Kanto and prepare in other ways, an Abra teleporter will teleport him or her back home to Pallet Town for free.

Once the player is ready, he or she can start the challenge by stepping in the northern door of the building. Once in, it is necessary to survive through 5 tough trainers with no return to the Pokémon Center.

See the following page for information on the opponents that must be fought during Kanto’s Elite Four:

Johto Elite Four

The Elite Four of the Johto region will await the player in the west building. In it, the player can fully prepare for the incoming challenge by healing at the Pokémon Center and stocking on the best healing items in the PokéMart. Multiple NPCs will also hint at the type of each member of the Elite Four.

Unlike the Kanto building, there will not be an Abra teleporter.

Once the player is ready, he or she can start the challenge by stepping in the northern door of the building. Once in, it is necessary to survive through 5 tough trainers with no return to the Pokémon Center.

Youngster Joey (boss) and Hoenn Traveler

The Hoenn Traveler NPC will carry the player to the first town of the Hoenn region, Littleroot Town, simply by talking to him. However, the recurrent Rattata trainer, Youngster Joey, will be blocking the way, requesting a personally captured level 80 or over Rattata before accepting the challenge.

Once Youngster Joey has been defeated, the player can finally talk to the Hoenn Traveler to travel to Hoenn. Upon accepting his offer, all Pokémon will be locked and returning to previous regions will be impossible until obtaining the 8th Hoenn badge. As such, it is necessary to make sure all preparations are complete before talking to him.
