Insomnia (ability)

Insomnia is one of the many abilities that are inheritable by Pokémon.

It is one of the three sleep-preventive abilities, in the same parametric bracket as Vital Spirit and Sweet Veil.

Function

Insomnia will preclude the possessor from falling asleep; this includes any soporific moves used by the possessor, itself, as the ability would defunctionalize the Rest technique, for example. If a concurrently sleeping Pokémon were to acquire this ability while asleep—a la the usage of Skill Swap—the ability would instantaneously effectuate, thereby waking up the Pokémon.
