Lance is a member of the Kanto Elite Four, as well as the champion of the Johto Elite Four. Coming back every time with a stronger team, this Boss version of Lance is the first Boss version of Lance, which can only be fought once.

Challenging Lance

Lance is the only NPC staying in Dragons Den B1F. As such it is necessary to complete a serie of requirements in order to enter the room:

• Speak to the police officer in front of the Cerulean Cave.
• Pay 200k for the Dragon Membership in Blackthorn City‘s Dragon Club.
• Obtain 240 Pokédex caught data and retrieve the Dragon Medallion from Blackthorn City‘s Dragon Club.
• Defeat the Dragonite blocking the path in Dragons Den B1F.

Afterwards, Lance will challenge the player given that he or she has a full party of 6 level 100 Pokémons. If Lance wins, he will have no cooldown and can be immediately fought again. He cannot be rechallenged after winning against him however.

• Cerulean Cave. Lance is the direct and only requirement for its access.
• Dragons Den‘s Dragon Shrine. Lance is one of the three requirements for its access, and it is most notably where Lance 2.0, the next version of Lance.
